Related Product Information for uPK2 recombinant protein
uPK2 is one of the proteins of the highly urothelium-specific integral membrane proteins of the asymmetric unit membrane which forms urothelium apical plaques in mammals. The asymmetric unit membrane is believed to strengthen the urothelium by preventing cell rupture during bladder distention. This protein is expressed in the peripheral blood of bladder cancer patients with transitional cell carcinomas. Recombinant human uPK2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes one of the proteins of the highly conserved urothelium-specific integral membrane proteins of the asymmetric unit membrane which forms urothelium apical plaques in mammals. The asymmetric unit membrane is believed to strengthen the urothelium by preventing cell rupture during bladder distention. The encoded protein is expressed in the peripheral blood of bladder cancer patients with transitional cell carcinomas.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

Component of the asymmetric unit membrane (AUM); a highly specialized biomembrane elaborated by terminally differentiated urothelial cells. May play an important role in regulating the assembly of the AUM ().

Product Notes

The uPK2 upk2 (Catalog #AAA204972) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's uPK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the uPK2 upk2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSDFNISSL SGLLSPALTE SLLVALPPCH LTGGNATLMV RRANDSKVVT SSFVVPPCRG RRELVSVVDS GAGFTVTRLS AYQVTNLVPG TKFYISYLVK KGTATESSRE IPMSTLPRRN MESIGLGMAR TGG. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "uPK2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
