Related Product Information for INHA recombinant protein
INHA, also known as Inhibin alpha, belongs to the TGF-beta family. Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. The inhibin alpha subunit joins either the beta A or beta B subunit to form a pituitary FSH secretion inhibitor. Inhibin has been shown to regulate gonadal stromal cell proliferation negatively and to have tumour-suppressor activity. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. Inhibins appear to oppose the functions of activins. Recombinant human INHA protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate multiple peptide products, including the alpha subunit of the inhibin A and B protein complexes. These complexes negatively regulate follicle stimulating hormone secretion from the pituitary gland. Inhibins have also been implicated in regulating numerous cellular processes including cell proliferation, apoptosis, immune response and hormone secretion. Mutations in this gene may be associated with male infertility and premature ovarian failure in female human patients. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]

Uniprot Description

Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland.

Product Notes

The INHA inha (Catalog #AAA205275) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's INHA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the INHA inha for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MSTPLMSWPW SPSALRLLQR PPEEPAAHAN CHRVALNISF QELGWERWIV YPPSFIFHYC HGGCGLHIPP NLSLPVPGAP PTPAQPYSLL PGAQPCCAAL PGTMRPLHVR TTSDGGYSFK YETVPNLLTQ HCACI. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "INHA, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
