Reactivity
Chicken
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Chicken TRH and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces, Urine and Body Fluids
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
0.625 ?IU/ml - 20 ?IU/ml.
Sensitivity
0.1 ?IU/ml.
Intended Uses
ELISA is a simple and highly sensitive method of analysis that allows for simultaneous and rapid quantification of a large number of samples. The assay is based on the specific recognition of the target compound (analyte/antigen) by antibodies which bind to the compound. The antigen-antibody complex is detected and measured with the aid of an enzyme-labeled antibody or antigen. Upon addition of a non-colored reagent, the enzyme produces a color reaction where the color intensity is directly or inversely proportional to the concentration of the analyte in the sample. This quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is in tended to determinate TRH concentrations in Chicken serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, feces, urine and body fluids, and it is only for research, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean x100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the thyrotropin-releasing hormone family. Cleavage of the encoded proprotein releases mature thyrotropin-releasing hormone, which is a tripeptide hypothalamic regulatory hormone. The human proprotein contains six thyrotropin-releasing hormone tripeptides. Thyrotropin-releasing hormone is involved in the regulation and release of thyroid-stimulating hormone, as well as prolactin. Deficiency of this hormone has been associated with hypothalamic hypothyroidism. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

Uniprot Description

TRH: Functions as a regulator of the biosynthesis of TSH in the anterior pituitary gland and as a neurotransmitter/ neuromodulator in the central and peripheral nervous systems. May promote hair shaft elongation, prolonge the hair cycle growth phase (anagen) and antagonized its termination by TGFB2. May also increase proliferation and inhibited apoptosis of hair matrix keratinocytes. Belongs to the TRH family.

Product Notes

The Chicken TRH trh (Catalog #AAA044339) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA044339 ELISA Kit recognizes Chicken TRH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Thyrotropin Releasing Hormone, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
