Related Product Information for TNNI3 elisa kit
Introduction: Troponin I is a part of the troponin complex. It binds to actin in thinmyofilaments to hold the actin-tropomyosin complex in place. TnIinhibits ATPase activity of acto myosin and TnT and TnI arepresent in cardiac muscles in different forms than in skeletalmuscles. Only one tissue specific isoform of TnI is described forcardiac muscle tissue (cTnI) and this is expressed only inmyocardium. Equally reactive with free cardiac troponin I (cTnI)and cTnI forming complexes with other troponin components. (Inthe presence of 5 mM EDTA). Antibodies are not affected byheparin, phosphorylation, oxidation and troponin complexformation. No cross-reaction with skeletal muscle troponin I.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with anantibody specific to cTn-I. Standards or samples are then addedto the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugatedantibody preparation specific for cTn-I and Avidin conjugated toHorseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB (3,3',5,5' tetramethyl-benzidine)substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells thatcontain cTn-I, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugatedAvidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reactionis terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and thecolor change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelengthof 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of cTn-I in the samples isthen determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to thestandard curve.

NCBI Description

Troponin I (TnI), along with troponin T (TnT) and troponin C (TnC), is one of 3 subunits that form the troponin complex of the thin filaments of striated muscle. TnI is the inhibitory subunit; blocking actin-myosin interactions and thereby mediating striated muscle relaxation. The TnI subfamily contains three genes: TnI-skeletal-fast-twitch, TnI-skeletal-slow-twitch, and TnI-cardiac. This gene encodes the TnI-cardiac protein and is exclusively expressed in cardiac muscle tissues. Mutations in this gene cause familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 7 (CMH7) and familial restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Troponin I is the inhibitory subunit of troponin, the thin filament regulatory complex which confers calcium-sensitivity to striated muscle actomyosin ATPase activity.

Product Notes

The Human TNNI3 tnni3 (Catalog #AAA700416) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA700416 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TNNI3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "troponin I type 3 (cardiac), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
