INTENDED USE This TLL1 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Porcine TLL1. This ELISA kit for research use only!

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY TLL1 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-TLL1 antibody and an TLL1-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with TLL1-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the TLL1 concentration since TLL1 from samples and TLL1-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-TLL1 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by TLL1 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind TLL1-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The TLL1 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an astacin-like, zinc-dependent, metalloprotease that belongs to the peptidase M12A family. This protease processes procollagen C-propeptides, such as chordin, pro-biglycan and pro-lysyl oxidase. Studies in mice suggest that this gene plays multiple roles in the development of mammalian heart, and is essential for the formation of the interventricular septum. Allelic variants of this gene are associated with atrial septal defect type 6. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description

TLL1: Protease which processes procollagen C-propeptides, such as chordin, pro-biglycan and pro-lysyl oxidase. Required for the embryonic development. Predominant protease, which in the development, influences dorsal-ventral patterning and skeletogenesis. Defects in TLL1 are the cause of atrial septal defect type 6 (ASD6). A congenital heart malformation characterized by incomplete closure of the wall between the atria resulting in blood flow from the left to the right atria. Belongs to the peptidase M12A family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Porcine TLL1 tll1 (Catalog #AAA738245) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA738245 ELISA Kit recognizes Porcine TLL1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tolloid Like Protein 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
