NCBI Description

There are at least four distinct but related alkaline phosphatases: intestinal, placental, placental-like, and liver/bone/kidney (tissue non-specific). The intestinal alkaline phosphatase gene encodes a digestive brush-border enzyme. This enzyme is upregulated during small intestinal epithelial cell differentiation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ALPI: intestinal alkaline phosphatase is one of four related alkaline phosphatases. The exact physiological function of alkaline phosphatases is not known. This protein is a GPI-anchored membrane bound glycosylated enzyme that is localized to fetal and adult intestines.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - folate biosynthesis; Phosphatase; EC 3.1.3.1

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q37.1

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: protease binding; zinc ion binding; alkaline phosphatase activity; magnesium ion binding

Product Notes

The ALPI alpi (Catalog #AAA823288) is a Blocking Peptide produced from Synthetic and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ALPI Blocking Peptide reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ALPI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking (BL). Blocking Peptide to the diluted primary antibody in a molar ratio of 10:1 (peptide to antibody) and incubate the mixture at 4 degree C for overnight or at room temperature for 2 hours. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ALPI alpi for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ALPI, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
