Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-Human STX1A antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human STX1A antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRPStreptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human STX1A amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human STX1A can be calculated.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the syntaxin superfamily. Syntaxins are nervous system-specific proteins implicated in the docking of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic plasma membrane. Syntaxins possess a single C-terminal transmembrane domain, a SNARE [Soluble NSF (N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive fusion protein)-Attachment protein REceptor] domain (known as H3), and an N-terminal regulatory domain (Habc). Syntaxins bind synaptotagmin in a calcium-dependent fashion and interact with voltage dependent calcium and potassium channels via the C-terminal H3 domain. This gene product is a key molecule in ion channel regulation and synaptic exocytosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

STX1A: a type IV membrane protein involved in docking of synaptic vesicles at presynaptic active zones. May play a critical role in neurotransmitter exocytosis. Part of the SNARE core complex containing SNAP25, VAMP2 and STX1A. Three splice variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Human STX1A stx1a (Catalog #AAA760884) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA760884 ELISA Kit recognizes Human STX1A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Syntaxin-1A, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
