Human Sjogren Syndrome Antigen B ELISA Kit | SSB elisa kit
Human SSB (Sjogren Syndrome Antigen B) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human SSB. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human SSB and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human SSB, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human SSB. You can calculate the concentration of Human SSB in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is involved in diverse aspects of RNA metabolism, including binding and protecting poly(U) termini of nascent RNA polymerase III transcripts from exonuclease digestion, processing 5' and 3' ends of pre-tRNA precursors, acting as an RNA chaperone, and binding viral RNAs associated with hepatitis C virus. Autoantibodies reacting with this protein are found in the sera of patients with Sjogren syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus. Alternative promoter usage results in two different transcript variants which encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
Uniprot Description
SSB: a nuclear protein that plays a role in the transcription of RNA polymerase III. It is most probably a transcription termination factor. Binds to the 3' termini of virtually all nascent polymerase III transcripts. It is associated with precursor forms of RNA polymerase III transcripts including tRNA and 4.5S, 5s, 7s, and 7-2 RNAs.
Protein type: Transcription initiation complex
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q31.1
Cellular Component: nuclear chromosome, telomeric region; ribonucleoprotein complex
Molecular Function: mRNA binding; nucleotide binding; protein binding; tRNA binding
Biological Process: histone mRNA metabolic process; tRNA modification

Product Notes
The Human SSB ssb (Catalog #AAA2533454) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2533454 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SSB. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Sjogren Syndrome Antigen B, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
