Related Product Information for SPT16 recombinant protein
Component of the FACT complex, a general chromatin factor that acts to reorganize nucleosomes. The FACT complex is involved in multiple processes that require DNA as a tplate such as mRNA elongation, DNA replication and DNA repair. During transcription elongation the FACT complex acts as a histone chaperone that both destabilizes and restores nucleosomal structure. It facilitates the passage of RNA polymerase II and transcription by promoting the dissociation of one histone H2A-H2B dimer from the nucleosome, then subsequently promotes the reestablishment of the nucleosome following the passage of RNA polymerase II (Probable).

NCBI Description

encodes a component of the FAcilitates Chromatin Transcription (FACT) complex, SPT16.Along with SSRP1 binds to the promoter of FLC.

Uniprot Description

Component of the FACT complex, a general chromatin factor that acts to reorganize nucleosomes. The FACT complex is involved in multiple processes that require DNA as a template such as mRNA elongation, DNA replication and DNA repair.

Product Notes

The SPT16 spt16 (Catalog #AAA9420715) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Partial, 890-1074aa. The Recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana FACT complex subunit SPT16 reacts with ARATH and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FACT complex subunit SPT16, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
