Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. The loss of this protein is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Sorbitol dehydrogenase (SORD; EC 1.1.1.14) catalyzes the interconversion of polyols and their corresponding ketoses, and together with aldose reductase (ALDR1; MIM 103880), makes up the sorbitol pathway that is believed to play an important role in the development of diabetic complications (summarized by Carr and Markham, 1995 [PubMed 8535074]). The first reaction of the pathway (also called the polyol pathway) is the reduction of glucose to sorbitol by ALDR1 with NADPH as the cofactor. SORD then oxidizes the sorbitol to fructose using NAD(+) cofactor.[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2010]
Uniprot Description
SORD: Converts sorbitol to fructose. Part of the polyol pathway that plays an important role in sperm physiology. May play a role in the sperm motility by providing an energetic source for sperm. Belongs to the zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenase family.

Product Notes
The SDH sord (Catalog #AAA2030670) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Host: E Coli Source: Prokaryotic expression and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Sorbitol Dehydrogenase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SDH sord for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: The target protein is fused with two N-terminal Tags, His-tag and T7-tag, its sequence is listed below.AAPAKGENL SLVVHGPGDI RLENYPIPEL GPNDVLLKMH SVGICGSDVH YWEHGRIGDF VVKKPMVLGH EAAGTVTKVG PMVKHLKPGD RVAIEPGVPR EIDEFCKIGR YNLTPSIFFC ATPPDDGNLC RFYKHSADFC YKLPDSVTFE EGALIEPLSV GIYACRRGSV SLGNKVLVCG AGPIGIVTLL VAKAMGASQV VVIDLSASRL AKAKEVGADF TIQVAKETPH DIAKKVESVL GSKPEVTIEC TGAESSVQTG IYATHSGGTL VVVGMGPEMI NLPLVHAAVR EVDIKGVFRY CNTWPMAVSM LASKTLNVKP LVTHRFPLEK AVEAFETAKK GLGLKVMIKC DPNDQNP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Sorbitol Dehydrogenase, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
