Related Product Information for Ta1 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Sheep Ta1 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Ta1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Ta1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Ta1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Ta1. You can calculate the concentration of Ta1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

TAAR1 is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by trace amines. Trace amines are endogenous amine compounds that account for less than 1% of the biogenic amines in most brain regions (Bunzow et al., 2001 [PubMed 11723224]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

TAAR1: Receptor for trace amines, including beta- phenylethylamine (b-PEA), p-tyramine (p-TYR), octopamine and tryptamine, with highest affinity for b-PEA and p-TYR. Unresponsive to classical biogenic amines, such as epinephrine and histamine and only partially activated by dopamine and serotonine. Trace amines are biogenic amines present in very low levels in mammalian tissues. Although some trace amines have clearly defined roles as neurotransmitters in invertebrates, the extent to which they function as true neurotransmitters in vertebrates has remained speculative. Trace amines are likely to be involved in a variety of physiological functions that have yet to be fully understood. The signal transduced by this receptor is mediated by the G(s)-class of G-proteins which activate adenylate cyclase. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q23.2

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; trace-amine receptor activity

Product Notes

The Sheep Ta1 taar1 (Catalog #AAA2506656) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2506656 ELISA Kit recognizes Sheep Ta1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ta1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
