Related Product Information for ALDOA elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Sheep ALDOA concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to ALDOA. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for ALDOA and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain ALDOA, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of ALDOA. You can calculate the concentration of ALDOA in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene, Aldolase A (fructose-bisphosphate aldolase), is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Three aldolase isozymes (A, B, and C), encoded by three different genes, are differentially expressed during development. Aldolase A is found in the developing embryo and is produced in even greater amounts in adult muscle. Aldolase A expression is repressed in adult liver, kidney and intestine and similar to aldolase C levels in brain and other nervous tissue. Aldolase A deficiency has been associated with myopathy and hemolytic anemia. Alternative splicing and alternative promoter usage results in multiple transcript variants. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 3 and 10. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

ALDOA: a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes D-fructose 1,6-bisphosphate -> glycerone phosphate + D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate. Three forms of aldolase are found in vertebrates - aldolase A in muscle, aldolase B in liver and aldolase C in brain.

Product Notes

The Sheep ALDOA aldoa (Catalog #AAA2513113) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2513113 ELISA Kit recognizes Sheep ALDOA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ALDOA, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
