NCBI Description

expression in the hippocampus increases in response to electroconvulsive shock [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

PDE1A: Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase with a dual- specificity for the second messengers cAMP and cGMP, which are key regulators of many important physiological processes. Has a higher affinity for cGMP than for cAMP. Belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase family. PDE1 subfamily. 9 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Nucleotide Metabolism - purine; Phosphodiesterase; EC 3.1.4.17

Cellular Component: cell soma; cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: 3',5'-cyclic-AMP phosphodiesterase activity; calcium- and calmodulin-regulated 3',5'-cyclic-GMP phosphodiesterase activity; metal ion binding; cGMP binding

Biological Process: regulation of smooth muscle cell proliferation; cAMP catabolic process; cGMP catabolic process; signal transduction

Product Notes

The Pde1a (Catalog #AAA635973) is an Active Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Pde1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phosphodiesterase 1A, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
