Mouse Scavenger receptor class F member 2, SCARF2 ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
SREC-II: Probable adhesion protein, which mediates homophilic and heterophilic interactions. In contrast to SCARF1, it poorly mediates the binding and degradation of acetylated low density lipoprotein (Ac-LDL). Defects in SCARF2 are the cause of Van den Ende-Gupta syndrome (VDEGS). A syndrome characterized by craniofacial and skeletal abnormalities that include blepharophimosis, a flat and wide nasal bridge, narrow and beaked nose, hypoplastic maxilla with or without cleft palate and everted lower lip, prominent ears, down-slanting eyes, arachnodactyly, and camptodactyly. Patients present congenital joint contractures that improve without intervention, and normal growth and development. Intelligence is normal. Rarely, enlarged cerebella can be present. Some patients experience respiratory problems due to laryngeal abnormalities. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell adhesion
Cellular Component: focal adhesion; membrane; integral to membrane
Molecular Function: scavenger receptor activity
Biological Process: heterophilic cell adhesion; receptor-mediated endocytosis; cell adhesion

Product Notes
The Mouse SCARF2 scarf2 (Catalog #AAA9324677) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9324677 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse SCARF2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "scavenger receptor class F, member 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
