Applicable Applications for anti-PGC1-b antibody
Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Applications Validated:
WB: 1:500-1:2,000 dilution
Note: Many chromatin-bound proteins are not soluble in a low salt nuclear extract and fractionate to the pellet. Therefore, we recommend a High Salt/Sonication Protocol when preparing nuclear extracts for Western blot.
Immunogen
This PGC1-b antibody antibody was raised against a peptide within the N-terminal region of human PGC1-b.
Preparation and Storage
Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles by aliquoting items into single-use fractions for storage at -20 degree C for up to 2 years. Keep all reagents on ice when not in storage.1ug/ul

Related Product Information for anti-PGC1-b antibody
Short Description: Our PGC1-b antibody (pAb) was raised in a Rabbit host. It has been validated for use in Western blot; it has been shown to react with Human samples.

Background: PGC1-b (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-beta, PPARGC1B, PERC) is a co-activator of transcription by nuclear receptors and transcription factors. PGC1-b participates in modulating the transcriptional activity of PPAR alpha and gamma, ER alpha, NRF1 and GR. It is likely involved in fat oxidation, non-oxidative glucose metabolism and in the regulation of energy expenditure. Expression of PGC1-b is repressed by saturated fatty acids in skeletal muscle cells and induced by insulin. PGC1-b is down-regulated in type 2 diabetes as well as in pre-diabetics. Allelic variation of PGC1-b may contribute to the pathogenesis of obesity, with the widespread Ala-203 variation being a significant risk factor for the development of this diabetes.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene stimulates the activity of several transcription factors and nuclear receptors, including estrogen receptor alpha, nuclear respiratory factor 1, and glucocorticoid receptor. The encoded protein may be involved in fat oxidation, non-oxidative glucose metabolism, and the regulation of energy expenditure. This protein is downregulated in prediabetic and type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Certain allelic variations in this gene increase the risk of the development of obesity. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Product Notes

The PGC1-b ppargc1b (Catalog #AAA388611) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PGC1-b antibody (pAb) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PGC1-b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications Validated: WB: 1:500-1:2,000 dilution Note: Many chromatin-bound proteins are not soluble in a low salt nuclear extract and fractionate to the pellet. Therefore, we recommend a High Salt/Sonication Protocol when preparing nuclear extracts for Western blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PGC1-b ppargc1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PGC1-b, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
