Related Product Information for SBDS recombinant protein
Ribosome maturation protein SBDS is a member of a highly conserved protein family that exists from archaea to vertebrates and plants. The protein may function in RNA metabolism. It may be involved in the biogenesis of the 60S ribosomal subunit and translational activation of ribosomes. Shwachman-Diamond syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by mutations in the SBDS gene. Recombinant human SBDS protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a highly conserved protein that plays an essential role in ribosome biogenesis. The encoded protein interacts with elongation factor-like GTPase 1 to disassociate eukaryotic initiation factor 6 from the late cytoplasmic pre-60S ribosomal subunit allowing assembly of the 80S subunit. Mutations within this gene are associated with the autosomal recessive disorder Shwachman-Bodian-Diamond syndrome. This gene has a closely linked pseudogene that is distally located. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]

Uniprot Description

Required for the assembly of mature ribosomes and ribosome biogenesis. Together with EFL1, triggers the GTP-dependent release of EIF6 from 60S pre-ribosomes in the cytoplasm, thereby activating ribosomes for translation competence by allowing 80S ribosome assembly and facilitating EIF6 recycling to the nucleus, where it is required for 60S rRNA processing and nuclear export. Required for normal levels of protein synthesis. May play a role in cellular stress resistance. May play a role in cellular response to DNA damage. May play a role in cell proliferation.

Product Notes

The SBDS sbds (Catalog #AAA203906) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's SBDS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SBDS sbds for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MSIFTPTNQI RLTNVAVVRM KRAGKRFEIA CYKNKVVGWR SGVEKDLDEV LQTHSVFVNV SKGQVAKKED LISAFGTDDQ TEICKQILTK GEVQVSDKER HTQLEQMFRD IATIVADKCV NPETKRPYTV ILIERAMKDI HYSVKTNKST KQQALEVIKQ LKEKMKIERA HMRLRFILPV NEGKKLKEKL KPLIKVIESE DYGQQLEIVC LIDPGCFREI DELIKKETKG KGSLEVLNLK DVEEGDEKFE. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SBDS, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
