Human Ribosome matuion protein SBDS (SBDS) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: SBDS ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-SBDS antibody and an SBDS-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with SBDS-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the SBDS concentration since SBDS from samples and SBDS-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-SBDS antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by SBDS from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind SBDS-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The SBDS concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a highly conserved protein that plays an essential role in ribosome biogenesis. The encoded protein interacts with elongation factor-like GTPase 1 to disassociate eukaryotic initiation factor 6 from the late cytoplasmic pre-60S ribosomal subunit allowing assembly of the 80S subunit. Mutations within this gene are associated with the autosomal recessive disorder Shwachman-Bodian-Diamond syndrome. This gene has a closely linked pseudogene that is distally located. Uniprot Description
Required for the assembly of mature ribosomes and ribosome biogenesis. Together with EFL1, triggers the GTP-dependent release of EIF6 from 60S pre-ribosomes in the cytoplasm, thereby activating ribosomes for translation competence by allowing 80S ribosome assembly and facilitating EIF6 recycling to the nucleus, where it is required for 60S rRNA processing and nuclear export. Required for normal levels of protein synthesis. May play a role in cellular stress resistance. May play a role in cellular response to DNA damage. May play a role in cell proliferation.

Product Notes
The Human SBDS sbds (Catalog #AAA7254451) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7254451 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SBDS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ribosome matuion protein SBDS (SBDS), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
