Related Product Information for RPLP1 recombinant protein
Description: RPLP1 is a full-length cDNA coding for the human ribosomal P1 phosphoprotein having a molecular mass of 12,336 Dalton (pH 4.75). RPLP1 protein is fused to a hexa-histidine purification tag.

Introduction: Ribosomes, the organelles which catalyze protein synthesis, contain a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and nearly 80 structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomal phosphoprotein which is a component of the 60S subunit. The protein, which is a functional equivalent of the E. coli L7/L12 ribosomal protein, is a member of the L12P family of ribosomal proteins and has a vital part in the elongation step of protein synthesis. In opposed to most ribosomal proteins, which are basic, the encoded protein is acidic. The P1 C-terminal end is nearly identical to the C-terminal ends of the ribosomal phosphoproteins P0 and P2. The P1 protein can interact with P0 and P2 to form a pentameric complex consisting of P1 and P2 dimers, and a P0 monomer. P1 is located in the cytoplasm. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants which encode varies proteins have been detected. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene distributed all over the genome.

NCBI Description

Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomal phosphoprotein that is a component of the 60S subunit. The protein, which is a functional equivalent of the E. coli L7/L12 ribosomal protein, belongs to the L12P family of ribosomal proteins. It plays an important role in the elongation step of protein synthesis. Unlike most ribosomal proteins, which are basic, the encoded protein is acidic. Its C-terminal end is nearly identical to the C-terminal ends of the ribosomal phosphoproteins P0 and P2. The P1 protein can interact with P0 and P2 to form a pentameric complex consisting of P1 and P2 dimers, and a P0 monomer. The protein is located in the cytoplasm. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been observed. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene dispersed through the genome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The RPLP1 rplp1 (Catalog #AAA144456) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 Insect Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Ribosomal Phosphoprotein P1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). Western blot with SLE sera (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) ormonoclonal antihexa-His-tag antibody. Immunological Tests: Standard ELISA test (checkerboard analysis of positive/negative sera panels). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RPLP1 rplp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ribosomal Phosphoprotein P1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
