Rho-conotoxin TIA Recombinant Protein | Rho-TIA recombinant protein
Recombinant Conus tulipa Rho-conotoxin TIA
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: Reversibly inhibits alpha-1 adrenergic receptors (alpha-1B (ADRA1B) > alpha-1A (ADRA1A) = alpha-1D (ADRA1D)). Is a competitive antagonist of alpha-1A- and alpha-1D-adrenoceptors and a non-competitive antagonist of alpha-1B-adrenoceptors. Has no effect on alpha-2 adrenergic receptors. Potently inhibited contractions of vas deferens, spleen and aorta in response to noradrenaline. Ref.3 Ref.4 Ref.5
Subcellular location: Secreted.
Tissue specificity: Expressed by the venom duct.
Domain: The cysteine framework is I (CC-C-C).
Pharmaceutical use: Is under preclinical trial by Xenome.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the conotoxin A superfamily.
Mass spectrometry: Molecular mass is 2390.15 Da from positions 1 - 19. Determined by ESI. Ref.2
Sequence caution: The sequence ADN79119.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. Translation N-terminally shortened.
