Interferon lambda 2 Active Protein | IFNL2 active protein
Interferon lambda 2, Recombinant, Mouse (IFNl2, Interleukin 28A, IL-28A) (BSA Free)
95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain.
95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain.
A DNA sequence encoding mouse IL-28A (Met 1-Val 193; Accession # Q4VK74) was fused with a six-histidine tag at the C-terminus. The protein was expressed in a mouse myeloma cell line, NS0.
Calculated molecular mass of 20. kD. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant mouse IL-28A migrates as an ~ 25-30kD protein in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a cytokine distantly related to type I interferons and the IL-10 family. This gene, interleukin 28B (IL28B), and interleukin 29 (IL29) are three closely related cytokine genes that form a cytokine gene cluster on a chromosomal region mapped to 19q13. Expression of the cytokines encoded by the three genes can be induced by viral infection. All three cytokines have been shown to interact with a heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor that consists of interleukin 10 receptor, beta (IL10RB) and interleukin 28 receptor, alpha (IL28RA). Uniprot Description
Function: Cytokine with immunomodulatory activity. Up-regulates MHC class I antigen expression. Displays potent antiviral activity. Also displays antitumor activity. Ligand for the heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor composed of IL10RB and IFNLR1. The ligand/receptor complex seems to signal through the Jak-STAT pathway. Seems not to be essential for early virus-activated host defense in vaginal infection, but plays an important role in Toll-like receptor (TLR)-induced antiviral defense. Plays a significant role in the antiviral immune defense in the intestinal epithelium. Ref.1 Ref.2 Ref.3
Subcellular location: Secreted Ref.2.
Induction: By viral infections or double-stranded RNA. Ref.1 Ref.2
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the lambda interferon family.
Caution: It is uncertain whether Met-1 or Met-5 is the initiator.
Sequence caution: The sequence AAR24510.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. Translation N-terminally extended.

Product Notes
The IFNL2 ifnl2 (Catalog #AAA650700) is an Active Protein produced from Recombinant Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interferon lambda 2, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
