Application Notes
Direct ELISA: 1:20000-100000
WB: 1:3000-10000
IHC: 1:100-500
Notes
1. The biotin of milk and milk powder may interfere with biotin avidin - reaction system, therefore avoid using liquid milk or milk powder as the component for blocking or diluent buffer in the assay. It is recommend to use BSA or gelatin to replace.
There is a large amount of affinity in the egg white, which can also interfere with the reaction, so avoid using egg albumin (OVA) in the reaction system as well.
Related Product Information for Streptavidin reagent
1. Streptavidin is a protein which has similar biological characteristics as avidin, its molecular weight and ability to bind biotin are similar to the affinity in egg white. It's nonspecific binding is far lower than affinity, with isoelectric 6.0.
2. Streptavidin molecules consist of four identical peptides. The contents of glycine and alanine are higher in the amino acid composition. Moreover, the active groups of biotin are also tryptophan residues in peptide chains. Streptavidin is a protein with a slightly acidic (pH 6.0) and without any glycosyl. Under the action of proteolytic enzymes, streptavidin can rupture between the n-terminal 10 ~ 12 and c-terminal 19-21, forming core streptavidin and still maintain a complete ability to binding biotin. The active unit of streptavidin is expressed in terms of the amount of 1 mug biotin. The highest activity of 1 mg streptavidin can reach to 18 U.
3. The combination of streptavidin and biotin has a characteristic of high specificity and high affinity, making it widely used in protein and nucleic acid analysis. Streptavidin (HRP) is widely used in the analysis of ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and nucleic acid hybridization.

Product Notes

The Streptavidin (Catalog #AAA355817) is a Reagent and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. Direct ELISA: 1:20000-100000 WB: 1:3000-10000 IHC: 1:100-500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Streptavidin for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Streptavidin, Reagent" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
