Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Rat TBX2 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TBX2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for TBX2 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain TBX2, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of TBX2. You can calculate the concentration of TBX2 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of a phylogenetically conserved family of genes that share a common DNA-binding domain, the T-box. T-box genes encode transcription factors involved in the regulation of developmental processes. This gene product is the human homolog of mouse Tbx2, and shares strong sequence similarity with Drosophila omb protein. Expression studies indicate that this gene may have a potential role in tumorigenesis as an immortalizing agent. Transcript heterogeneity due to alternative polyadenylation has been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TBX2: Involved in the transcriptional regulation of genes required for mesoderm differentiation. Probably plays a role in limb pattern formation. Expressed primarily in adult in kidney, lung, and placenta. Weak expression in heart and ovary.

Product Notes

The Rat TBX2 tbx2 (Catalog #AAA2512236) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2512236 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat TBX2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TBX2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
