Intended Use: The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm using a spectrophotometer. In order to measure the concentration ofRat Recombinant Profilin 2 in the sample, This Rat Recombinant Profilin 2 Kit includes a set of calibration standards. The calibration standards are assayed at the same time as the samples and allow the operator to produce a standard curve of Optical Density versusRat Recombinant Profilin 2 concentration. The concentration ofRat Recombinant Profilin 2 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a ubiquitous actin monomer-binding protein belonging to the profilin family. It is thought to regulate actin polymerization in response to extracellular signals. There are two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

profilin 2: Binds to actin and affects the structure of the cytoskeleton. At high concentrations, profilin prevents the polymerization of actin, whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG. Belongs to the profilin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Rat PFN2 pfn2 (Catalog #AAA3809107) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA3809107 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat PFN2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Profilin 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
