Related Product Information for anti-SRI antibody
Sorcin is a highly conserved protein, with 95% homology between hamster and human sorcin sequences. Sorcin has four putative Ca-binding domains, two of which exhibit strong homology to calmodulin "EF hand" motifs. Calcium binding directly to sorcin has been demonstrated by in vitro assays. Sorcin is closely related to members of calpain and sarcoplasmic Ca2+-binding protein subfamilies. Sorcin undergoes calcium-dependent translocation from the cytosol to cellular membranes. Sorcin binds to and modulates ryanodine receptors and is widely distributed including heart and brain tissues. At the subcellular level, sorcin localizes to T-tubule junctions of cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a calcium-binding protein with multiple E-F hand domains that relocates from the cytoplasm to the sarcoplasmic reticulum in response to elevated calcium levels. In addition to regulating intracellular calcium homeostasis it also modulates excitation-contraction coupling in the heart. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct proteins. Multiple pseudogenes exist for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The SRI sri (Catalog #AAA3011714) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SRI Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SRI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SRI sri for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SRI, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
