Rat Osteocalcin/Bone Gla Protein (OT/BGP) ELISA Kit | OT/BGP elisa kit

Rat Osteocalcin/Bone Gla Protein (OT/BGP) ELISA Kit

Gene Names
BGLAP; OC; BGP; OCN
Reactivity
Rat
Synonyms
Osteocalcin/Bone Gla Protein (OT/BGP); Rat Osteocalcin/Bone Gla Protein (OT/BGP) ELISA Kit; OT/BGP elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Rat
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat OT/BGP and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces, Urine and Body Fluids
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
1.56 ng/ml – 50 ng/ml.
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated OT/BGP concentrations in Rat serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Rat OT/BGP antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add OT/BGP and OT/BGP antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of OT/BGP in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean x100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a highly abundant bone protein secreted by osteoblasts that regulates bone remodeling and energy metabolism. The encoded protein contains a Gla (gamma carboxyglutamate) domain, which functions in binding to calcium and hydroxyapatite, the mineral component of bone. Serum osteocalcin levels may be negatively correlated with metabolic syndrome. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream gene, PMF1 (polyamine-modulated factor 1), but the encoded protein only shows sequence identity with the upstream gene product. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2015]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The Rat OT/BGP bglap (Catalog #AAA025677) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA025677 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat OT/BGP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Osteocalcin/Bone Gla Protein (OT/BGP), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
