Rat Interleukin 17A, IL-17A ELISA Kit | IL-17A elisa kit
Rat Interleukin 17A, IL-17A ELISA Kit
Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Rat IL-17A antibody. IL-17A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat IL-17A Antibody is added and binds to IL-17A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IL-17A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat IL-17A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
Ligand for IL17RA and IL17RC (PubMed:17911633). The heterodimer formed by IL17A and IL17F is a ligand for the heterodimeric complex formed by IL17RA and IL17RC (PubMed:18684971). Involved in inducing stromal cells to produce proinflammatory and hematopoietic cytokines (PubMed:8676080).

The Rat IL-17A il17a (Catalog #AAA161134) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA161134 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat IL-17A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin 17A, IL-17A, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
