Principle of the Assay: P62 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-P62 antibody and an P62-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with P62-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the P62 concentration since P62 from samples and P62-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-P62 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by P62 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind P62-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The P62 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the K homology domain-containing, RNA-binding, signal transduction-associated protein family. The encoded protein appears to have many functions and may be involved in a variety of cellular processes, including alternative splicing, cell cycle regulation, RNA 3'-end formation, tumorigenesis, and regulation of human immunodeficiency virus gene expression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2012]
Uniprot Description
KHDRBS1: a nuclear RNA-binding protein. May be involved in slicing and mRNA transport. Associates with src in mitosis. Binds to RNA via a heteronuclear ribonucleoprotein K homology domain. Exerts functionally separable effects on cell proliferation and survival, dependent on its ability to bind specifically to RNA.

Product Notes
The Rat p62 khdrbs1 (Catalog #AAA7210079) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7210079 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat p62. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Antioncogene p62 protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
