Related Product Information for YWHAG elisa kit
Principle of the assay: YWHAG ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-YWHAG antibody and an YWHAG-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with YWHAG-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the YWHAG concentration since YWHAG from samples and YWHAG-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-YWHAG antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by YWHAG from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind YWHAG-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The YWHAG concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene product belongs to the 14-3-3 family of proteins which mediate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins. This highly conserved protein family is found in both plants and mammals, and this protein is 100% identical to the rat ortholog. It is induced by growth factors in human vascular smooth muscle cells, and is also highly expressed in skeletal and heart muscles, suggesting an important role for this protein in muscle tissue. It has been shown to interact with RAF1 and protein kinase C, proteins involved in various signal transduction pathways. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

14-3-3 gamma: Adapter protein implicated in the regulation of a large spectrum of both general and specialized signaling pathways. Binds to a large number of partners, usually by recognition of a phosphoserine or phosphothreonine motif. Binding generally results in the modulation of the activity of the binding partner. Homodimer. Interacts with SAMSN1. Interacts with RAF1, SSH1 and CRTC2/TORC2. Interacts with ABL1 (phosphorylated form); the interaction retains it in the cytoplasm. Interacts with GAB2. Interacts with MDM4 (phosphorylated); negatively regulates MDM4 activity toward TP53. Interacts with PKA-phosphorylated AANAT. Highly expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, and heart. Belongs to the 14-3-3 family.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q11.23

Cellular Component: focal adhesion; cytoplasmic vesicle membrane; membrane; cytosol

Product Notes

The Rat YWHAG ywhag (Catalog #AAA7205662) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7205662 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat YWHAG. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "14-3-3 protein gamma (YWHAG), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
