Related Product Information for HO-2 clia kit
Intended Uses: This CLIA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of HO-2 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit uses Sandwich-CLIA as the method. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to HO-2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for HO-2 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain HO-2, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear fluorescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured spectrophotometrically by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of HO-2. You can calculate the concentration of HO-2 in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

HMOX2: Heme oxygenase cleaves the heme ring at the alpha methene bridge to form biliverdin. Biliverdin is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase. Under physiological conditions, the activity of heme oxygenase is highest in the spleen, where senescent erythrocytes are sequestrated and destroyed. Heme oxygenase 2 could be implicated in the production of carbon monoxide in brain where it could act as a neurotransmitter. Belongs to the heme oxygenase family.

Protein type: EC 1.14.99.3; Oxidoreductase; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - porphyrin and chlorophyll

Cellular Component: intracellular membrane-bound organelle; membrane; endoplasmic reticulum; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: metal ion binding; oxidoreductase activity; heme oxygenase (decyclizing) activity

Biological Process: response to hypoxia; heme oxidation; response to oxidative stress

Product Notes

The Rat HO-2 hmox2 (Catalog #AAA2533205) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2533205 CLIA Kit recognizes Rat HO-2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HO-2 (heme oxygenase 2), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
