Rabbit anti-Human Collagen Type XVI Antibody | anti-COL16 antibody
Polyclonal Antibody to Collagen Type XVI (COL16)
Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL
Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.
Store at 4ºC for frequent use.
Aliquot and store at -20ºC for 24 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Western Blot (WB)
(Western Blot: Sample: Human Serum; Primary Ab: 2ug/ml Rabbit Anti-Human COL16 AntibodySecond Ab: 0.2ug/mL HRP-Linked Caprine Anti-Rabbit IgG Polyclonal Antibody (Cat# MBS2086047))
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes the alpha chain of type XVI collagen, a member of the FACIT collagen family (fibril-associated collagens with interrupted helices). Members of this collagen family are found in association with fibril-forming collagens such as type I and II, and serve to maintain the integrity of the extracellular matrix. High levels of type XVI collagen have been found in fibroblasts and keratinocytes, and in smooth muscle and amnion. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
COL16A1: Involved in mediating cell attachment and inducing integrin-mediated cellular reactions, such as cell spreading and alterations in cell morphology. Belongs to the fibril-associated collagens with interrupted helices (FACIT) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The COL16 col16a1 (Catalog #AAA2027058) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Collagen Type XVI (COL16) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Collagen Type XVI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Western blotting: 0.5-2ug/mL Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/mL Immunocytochemistry: 5-20ug/mL Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the COL16 col16a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Collagen Type XVI, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
