B56 beta isoform Blocking Peptide | PPP2R5B blocking peptide
B56 beta isoform Immunizing Peptide
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The product of this gene belongs to the phosphatase 2A regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2A is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases, and it is implicated in the negative control of cell growth and division. It consists of a common heteromeric core enzyme, which is composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, that associates with a variety of regulatory subunits. The B regulatory subunit might modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity. This gene encodes a beta isoform of the regulatory subunit B56 subfamily. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
PPP2R5B: a brain-specific, B regulatory subunit of the PP2A phosphoprotein phosphatase that modulates substrate selectivity, localization, and catalytic activity of the holoenzyme. Targeted by the KLHL15-Cul3 ubiquitin ligase complex, promoting its turnover by ubiquitylation and proteasomal degradation. Mediates dephosphorylation of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type II (CaMK2). The phosphorylated form mediates the interaction between AKT1 and PP2A phosphatase leading to dephosphorylation of AKT1 pT308 and pS373. Belongs to the phosphatase 2A regulatory subunit B56 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
