Related Product Information for PPM1G recombinant protein
Background: Protein phosphatase 1G, also known as Protein phosphatase 1C, Protein phosphatase 2C isoform gamma, Protein phosphatase magnesium-dependent 1 gamma, PP2C-gamma, PPM1G and PPM1C, is a cytoplasm protein which belongs to the PP2C family. PPM1G / PP2C-gamma is widely expressed. It is most abundant in testis, skeletal muscle, and heart. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described. PP2C family members are known to be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways.  PPM1G / PP2C-gamma is found to be responsible for the dephosphorylation of Pre-mRNA splicing factors, which is important for the formation of functional spliceosome. PPM1G / PP2C-gamma also plays a role in regulating cell cycle progression.

Description: A DNA sequence encoding the human PPM1G (O15355) C-terminal fragment (Met 317-Asp 546) was expressed, with a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PP2C family members are known to be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. This phosphatase is found to be responsible for the dephosphorylation of Pre-mRNA splicing factors, which is important for the formation of functional spliceosome. Studies of a similar gene in mice suggested a role of this phosphatase in regulating cell cycle progression. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]

Product Notes

The PPM1G ppm1g (Catalog #AAA2545842) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The recombinant human PPM1G comprises 241 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 26.6 kDa. It migrates as an approximately 30 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPM1G ppm1g for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPM1G / PP2C-gamma, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
