NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a zinc finger protein of unknown function. It bears similarity to a zinc finger protein which acts as a transcriptional activator. This gene lies in a region of the X chromosome which has been associated with mental retardation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
ZNF711: Transcription regulator required for brain development. Probably acts as a transcription factor that binds to the promoter of target genes and recruits PHF8 histone demethylase, leading to activate expression of genes involved in neuron development, such as KDM5C. Defects in ZNF711 are the cause of mental retardation X- linked ZNF711-related (MRXZ). Mental retardation is characterized by significantly below average general intellectual functioning associated with impairments in adaptative behavior and manifested during the developmental period. Belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: DNA-binding; C2H2-type zinc finger protein
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq21.1
Cellular Component: nucleus
Molecular Function: metal ion binding; protein binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; transcription factor activity
Biological Process: positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; transcription, DNA-dependent
Disease: Mental Retardation, X-linked 97

Product Notes
The ZNF711 znf711 (Catalog #AAA7605966) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ZNF711 Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ZNF711 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ZNF711 znf711 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ZNF711, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
