Related Product Information for anti-YBX1 antibody
YB1 binding has an absolute requirement for the CCAAT box and relative specificity for the Y box. It has a molecular mass of 35,414 and contains 18% basic residues and putative nuclear localization signals. The YBX1 gene is mapped on 1p34.2. Ybx1 was highly expressed in mouse erythroid myeloid lymphoid clone-1 (EML), a hematopoietic precursor cell line, but that it was downregulated in myeloid progenitors and in Gmcsf-treated EML cells during myeloid differentiation. Ybx1 was expressed at high levels in myeloid leukemic cells at different developmental stages. Knockdown of YBX1 in a human leukemic cell line inhibited proliferation ability, induced apoptosis, and induced megakaryocytic differentiation in response to arsenic trioxide treatment. YBX1 is downregulated during myeloid differentiation and aberrant YBX1 expression in leukemic cells may contribute to leukemia development by blocking differentiation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a highly conserved cold shock domain protein that has broad nucleic acid binding properties. The encoded protein functions as both a DNA and RNA binding protein and has been implicated in numerous cellular processes including regulation of transcription and translation, pre-mRNA splicing, DNA reparation and mRNA packaging. This protein is also a component of messenger ribonucleoprotein (mRNP) complexes and may have a role in microRNA processing. This protein can be secreted through non-classical pathways and functions as an extracellular mitogen. Aberrant expression of the gene is associated with cancer proliferation in numerous tissues. This gene may be a prognostic marker for poor outcome and drug resistance in certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on multiple chromosomes. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Product Notes

The YBX1 (Catalog #AAA5313045) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's YBX1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the YBX1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "YBX1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
