Related Product Information for anti-VIPR2 antibody
Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP; MIM 192320) and
pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP; MIM
102980) are homologous peptides that function as neurotransmitters
and neuroendocrine hormones. While the receptors for VIP and PACAP
share homology, they differ in their substrate specificities and
expression patterns. See VIPR1 (MIM 192321) and ADCYAP1R1(MIM
102981).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor for vasoactive intestinal peptide, a small neuropeptide. Vasoactive intestinal peptide is involved in smooth muscle relaxation, exocrine and endocrine secretion, and water and ion flux in lung and intestinal epithelia. Its actions are effected through integral membrane receptors associated with a guanine nucleotide binding protein which activates adenylate cyclase. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

VIPR2: This is a receptor for VIP as well as PACAP-38 and -27, the activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. Can be coupled to phospholipase C. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 2; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q36.3

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; vasoactive intestinal polypeptide receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; cell-cell signaling; negative regulation of smooth muscle cell proliferation; adenylate cyclase activation; signal transduction

Product Notes

The VIPR2 vipr2 (Catalog #AAA9210915) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 95-123. The VIPR2 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VIPR2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VIPR2 vipr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VIPR2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
