NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of a family that includes putative ATP-binding proteins involved in vesicle transport and fusion, 26S proteasome function, and assembly of peroxisomes. This protein, as a structural protein, is associated with clathrin, and heat-shock protein Hsc70, to form a complex. It has been implicated in a number of cellular events that are regulated during mitosis, including homotypic membrane fusion, spindle pole body function, and ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation. Uniprot Description
VCP: valosin-containing protein (VCP) is a member of a family that includes putative ATP-binding proteins involved in vesicle transport and fusion, 26S proteasome function, and assembly of peroxisomes. VCP, as a structural protein, is associated with clathrin, and heat-shock protein Hsc70, to form a complex. Necessary for the fragmentation of Golgi stacks during mitosis and for their reassembly after mitosis. Involved in the formation of the nuclear envelope and of the transitional endoplasmic reticulum (tER). Regulates NFKappaB pathway, which is important for metastasis of osteosarcoma. Tyrosine phosphorylation regulates its cell cycle-dependent nuclear localization.

Product Notes
The VCP vcp (Catalog #AAA9406276) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The VCP antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VCP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Western blotting: 1:500 - 1:2000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 - 1:100 Immunofluorescence: 1:50 - 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VCP vcp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VCP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
