NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor for arginine vasopressin, a neurohypophyseal hormone involved in diuresis inhibition, smooth muscle contraction, liver glycogenolysis stimulation and regulation of adrenocorticotropic hormone release from the pituitary. This receptor represents one of three G protein-coupled arginine vasopressin receptors which functions through a phosphotidylinositol-calcium second messenger system in vascular and hepatic tissues [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

AVPR1A: Receptor for arginine vasopressin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate a phosphatidyl- inositol-calcium second messenger system. Has been involved in social behaviors, including affiliation and attachment. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. Vasopressin/oxytocin receptor subfamily.

Product Notes

The Avpr1a avpr1a (Catalog #AAA613195) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Vasopressin Receptor, Arg, V1a (AVR-V1a) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Vasopressin Receptor, Arg, V1a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Avpr1a avpr1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vasopressin Receptor, Arg, V1a, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
