Uniprot Description

USP22: Histone deubiquitinating component of the transcription regulatory histone acetylation (HAT) complex SAGA. Catalyzes the deubiquitination of both histones H2A and H2B, thereby acting as a coactivator. Recruited to specific gene promoters by activators such as MYC, where it is required for transcription. Required for nuclear receptor-mediated transactivation and cell cycle progression. Belongs to the peptidase C19 family. UBP8 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ubiquitin-specific protease; Ubiquitin conjugating system; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; Cell cycle regulation; Nuclear receptor co-regulator; Protease; EC 3.4.19.12

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p11.2

Molecular Function: protein binding; H4 histone acetyltransferase activity; enzyme binding; ligand-dependent nuclear receptor transcription coactivator activity; zinc ion binding; cysteine-type endopeptidase activity; transcription coactivator activity; ubiquitin-specific protease activity

Biological Process: proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; embryonic development; establishment and/or maintenance of chromatin architecture; protein deubiquitination; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; histone ubiquitination; cell cycle; positive regulation of mitotic cell cycle; histone deubiquitination

Product Notes

The USP22 usp22 (Catalog #AAA6505289) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The USP22, CT (Ubiquitin Carboxyl-terminal Hydrolase 22, Ubiquitin Thiolesterase 22, Ubiquitin-specific Processing Protease 22, Deubiquitinating Enzyme 22, KIAA1063, USP3L) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's USP22 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:50-1:100 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-1:500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the USP22 usp22 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "USP22, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
