Related Product Information for anti-TSPO antibody
Rabbit anti TSPO antibody recognizes a region close to amino acid 81 of mouse TSPO also known as the peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptor (PBR). TSPO is a member of a family of tryptophan-rich sensory proteins and is a mitochondrial protein usually located in the outer mitochondrial membrane. It is thought to be part of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore and may be involved in apoptosis.

Uniprot Description

TSPO: Responsible for the manifestation of peripheral-type benzodiazepine recognition sites and is most likely to comprise binding domains for benzodiazepines and isoquinoline carboxamides. May play a role in the transport of porphyrins and heme. Plays a role in the transport of cholesterol across mitochondrial membranes in steroidogenic cells. Belongs to the TspO/BZRP family. Interacts with BZRAP1. May interact with STAR. Interacts with MOST-1. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, misc.; Apoptosis; Mitochondrial; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; integral to membrane; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; membrane; mitochondrial outer membrane; mitochondrion; nuclear membrane

Molecular Function: androgen binding; benzodiazepine receptor activity

Biological Process: behavioral response to pain; chloride transport; glial cell migration; ion transport; lipid transport; negative regulation of nitric oxide biosynthetic process; negative regulation of protein ubiquitination; negative regulation of tumor necrosis factor production; positive regulation of apoptosis; positive regulation of calcium ion transport; positive regulation of mitochondrial depolarization; regulation of steroid biosynthetic process; steroid biosynthetic process; synaptic transmission; transport

Product Notes

The TSPO tspo (Catalog #AAA224857) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI TSPO reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TSPO can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). IHC-P: 2.5 ug/ml WB: 0.5 - 4.0 ug/ml Western Blotting: Rabbit anti TSPO antibody recognizes a band of approximately 50 kDa (corresponding to the TSPO-VDAC complex) in Jurkat cell lysates and rat kidney tissue lysates Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TSPO tspo for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TSPO, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
