Related Product Information for anti-TRPC4 antibody
TRPC4 (or short transient receptor potential channel, TRP) contains 6 transmembrane domains, a pore region, a caveolin-binding domain and a PDZ binding domain at the C-terminus. It is a non-selective calcium permeant cation channel probably regulated by phosphatidylinositol second messengers via GPCRs or tyrosine kinases or depletion of internal calcium stores.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the canonical subfamily of transient receptor potential cation channels. The encoded protein forms a non-selective calcium-permeable cation channel that is activated by Gq-coupled receptors and tyrosine kinases, and plays a role in multiple processes including endothelial permeability, vasodilation, neurotransmitter release and cell proliferation. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in this gene may be associated with generalized epilepsy with photosensitivity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

TRPC4: Form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Acts as a cell-cell contact-dependent endothelial calcium entry channel. Probably operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. Mediates cation entry, with an enhanced permeability to barium over calcium. May also be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion. Belongs to the transient receptor (TC 1.A.4) family. STrpC subfamily. TRPC4 sub-subfamily. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The TRPC4 trpc4 (Catalog #AAA243706) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat Polyclonal to Human TRPC4 reacts with Dog, Gorilla, Human, Rat Predicted Reactivity: Gibbon, Mouse, Bovine, Hamster (at least 90% immunogen sequence identity) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRPC4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA (1:32000), IHC-P (4.75 ug/ml), WB (0.3 - 1 ug/ml) Usage: Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32000. Western Blot: Approx. 110kD band observed in Rat Brain lysates (calculated MW of 112kD according to Human NP_057263.1 and to Rat NP_536321.1). Recommended concentration: 0.3-1 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRPC4 trpc4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRPC4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
