TREML2, also known as TLT2 (TREM-like transcript 2), is a transmembrane protein in the TREM family of immunoregulatory molecules. TREML2 contains one Ig-like V-type domain and a Ser-Thr rich region. Unlike other TREM proteins, TREML2 lacks cytoplasmic ITIM and ITAM motifs and a DAP12-interacting transmembrane segment. TREML2 is expressed throughout the B cell lineage, and it is upregulated in neutrophils and macrophages in response to inflammatory stimuli. The extracellular regions of human and mouse TREML2 share 54% amino acid sequence identity.
