Related Product Information for anti-TOX3 antibody
TOX3 contains an HMG-box, indicating that it may be involved in bending and unwinding of DNA and alteration of chromatin structure. The C-terminus of the encoded protein is glutamine-rich due to CAG repeats in the coding sequence. A minor allele of this gene has been implicated in an elevated risk of breast cancer.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene contains an HMG-box, indicating that it may be involved in bending and unwinding of DNA and alteration of chromatin structure. The C-terminus of the encoded protein is glutamine-rich due to CAG repeats in the coding sequence. A minor allele of this gene has been implicated in an elevated risk of breast cancer. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]

Uniprot Description

TOX3: Transcriptional coactivator of the p300/CBP-mediated trancription complex. Activates transactivation through cAMP response element (CRE) sites. Protects against cell death by inducing antiapoptotic and repressing pro-apoptotic transcripts. Stimulates transcription from the estrogen-responsive or BCL-2 promoters. Required for depolarization-induced transcription activation of the C-FOS promoter in neurons. Associates with chromatin to the estrogen-responsive C3 promoter region. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q12.1

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; estrogen response element binding; phosphoprotein binding; chromatin binding

Biological Process: chromatin remodeling; transcription, DNA-dependent; apoptosis; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of neuron apoptosis

Product Notes

The TOX3 tox3 (Catalog #AAA9203659) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 214-242. The TOX3 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human, mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TOX3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TOX3 tox3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TOX3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
