NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the AAA family of adenosine triphosphatases with similarity to Clp proteases and heat shock proteins. Alternative splicing at this locus results in the translation of multiple isoforms of the encoded protein, some of which contain salusin peptides in the C-terminal region. These peptides may play roles in hypotension, myocardial growth and the induction of mitogenesis, and may also be involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. The antimicrobial peptide salusin-beta has antibacterial activity. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]
Uniprot Description
TOR2A: Salusins -alpha and -beta may be endocrine and/or paracrine factors able to increase intracellular calcium concentrations and induce cell mitogenesis. Salusins may also be potent hypotensive peptides. Belongs to the clpA/clpB family. Torsin subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The TOR2A tor2a (Catalog #AAA9214404) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 194-221. The TOR2A Antibody (Center) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TOR2A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TOR2A tor2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TOR2A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
