NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor contains an extracellular TRAIL-binding domain, a transmembrane domain, and a truncated cytoplamic death domain. This receptor does not induce apoptosis, and has been shown to play an inhibitory role in TRAIL-induced cell apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TRAIL-R4: Receptor for the cytotoxic ligand TRAIL. Contains a truncated death domain and hence is not capable of inducing apoptosis but protects against TRAIL-mediated apoptosis. Reports are contradictory with regards to its ability to induce the NF- kappa-B pathway. According to PubMed:9382840, it cannot but according to PubMed:9430226, it can induce the NF-kappa-B pathway. Widely expressed, in particular in fetal kidney, lung and liver, and in adult testis and liver. Also expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes, colon and small intestine, ovary, prostate, thymus, spleen, pancreas, kidney, lung, placenta and heart.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8p21

Cellular Component: integral to membrane

Molecular Function: transmembrane receptor activity; TRAIL binding

Biological Process: apoptosis; signal transduction; negative regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The TNFRSF10D tnfrsf10d (Catalog #AAA6356921) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TNFRSF10D, ID (TNFRSF10D, DCR2, TRAILR4, TRUNDD, Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 10D, Decoy receptor 2, TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand receptor 4, TRAIL receptor with a truncated death domain, CD264) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TNFRSF10D can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FLISA. Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TNFRSF10D tnfrsf10d for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TNFRSF10D, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
