NCBI Description

This locus encodes the transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta type III receptor. The encoded receptor is a membrane proteoglycan that often functions as a co-receptor with other TGF-beta receptor superfamily members. Ectodomain shedding produces soluble TGFBR3, which may inhibit TGFB signaling. Decreased expression of this receptor has been observed in various cancers. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]

Uniprot Description

TGFBR3: Binds to TGF-beta. Could be involved in capturing and retaining TGF-beta for presentation to the signaling receptors. Interacts with TCTEX1D4. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The TGFbetaIII tgfbr3 (Catalog #AAA9463105) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TGF beta Receptor III Polyclonal Antibody Bio Conjugated reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TGF beta Receptor III can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Immunohistochemistry-Frozen (IHC-F), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:50-200 IHC-P: 1:50-200 IHC-F: 1:50-200 IF: 1:50-200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TGFbetaIII tgfbr3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TGF beta Receptor III, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
