Goat TETANUS TOXIN Polyclonal Antibody | anti-tetX antibody
GOAT ANTI CLOSTRIDIUM TETANI TETANUS TOXIN
Goat anti Clostridium tetani tetanus toxin antibody recognizes the tetanus toxin of Clostridium tetani, an opportunistic pathogen commonly found in soil and the intestinal tracts of some animals. Tetanus toxin is a potent neurotoxin produced following the germination of C. tetani spores in wounds. It blocks neurotransmission by binding irreversibly to receptors in the brain and spinal cord.
It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Tetanus toxin acts by inhibiting neurotransmitter release. It binds to peripheral neuronal synapses, is internalized and moves by retrograde transport up the axon into the spinal cord where it can move between postsynaptic and presynaptic neurons. It inhibits neurotransmitter release by acting as a zinc endopeptidase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of the '76-Gln-|-Phe-77' bond of synaptobrevin-2.

Product Notes
The TETANUS TOXIN tetx (Catalog #AAA221882) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's TETANUS TOXIN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TETANUS TOXIN tetx for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TETANUS TOXIN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
