Related Product Information for anti-TDRKH antibody
TDRKH (tudor and KH domain-containing protein), also known as TDRD2 (tudor domain-containing protein 2), is a 561 amino acid protein that contains two KH domains and one tudor domain. TDRKH exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms and interacts with HIWI and HILI2. The gene that encodes TDRKH contains roughly 21, 310 bases and maps to human chromosome 1q21. With roughly 3, 000 genes that span about 260 million base pairs, chromosome 1 makes up approximately 8% of the human genome. There are also a large number of diseases associated with chromosome 1, notably, the rare aging disease Hutchinson-Gilford progeria which is associated with the LMNA gene that encodes lamin A. When defective, the LMNA gene product can build up in the nucleus and cause characteristic nuclear blebs. The MUTYH gene is located on chromosome 1 and is partially responsible for familial adenomatous polyposis. Stickler syndrome, Parkinson's, Gaucher disease and Usher syndrome are also associated with chromosome 1.

Uniprot Description

TDRKH: a protein containing one Tudor and two KH_1 domims. Tudor domains have been shown to interact with arginine-glycine-rich motifs in a methylarginine-dependent manner, and target methylated arginines physiologically. KH domains are RNA-binding domains found in a wide variety of nucleic acid-binding proteins. Two isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Unknown function

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21

Cellular Component: mitochondrion

Molecular Function: RNA binding

Biological Process: fertilization; DNA methylation during gametogenesis; RNA-mediated gene silencing; gene expression; spermatogenesis; cell differentiation; male meiosis

Product Notes

The TDRKH tdrkh (Catalog #AAA3011724) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TDRKH Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TDRKH can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TDRKH tdrkh for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TDRKH, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
