Subunit Structure
TFIID and PCAF are composed of TATA binding protein (TBP) and a number of TBP-associated factors (TAFs). TBP is not part of TFTC. Interacts directly with TBP, TAF1/TAFII250, TAF9/TAFII31 AND TAF12/TAFII20. The TAF6/TAFII70-TAF9/TAFII31 heterodimer forms an octamer complex with the TAF4B/TFII105-TAF12/TFIID20 heterodimer. Component of some MLL1/MLL complex, at least composed of the core components KMT2A/MLL1, ASH2L, HCFC1/HCF1, WDR5 and RBBP5, as well as the facultative components BAP18, CHD8, E2F6, HSP70, INO80C, KANSL1, LAS1L, MAX, MCRS1, MGA, MYST1/MOF, PELP1, PHF20, PRP31, RING2, RUVB1/TIP49A, RUVB2/TIP49B, SENP3, TAF1, TAF4, TAF6, TAF7, TAF9 and TEX10. Also interacts with the GTFs, TFIIEalpha/GTF2E1 and TFIIFalpha/GTF2F1. Component of the TFTC-HAT complex. Isoform 1: Interacts with TP53/p53. Isoform 4: Part of a TFIID-like complex which lacks TAF9. Isoform 4: Not part of the TFTC. Isoform 4: Interacts with TP53/p53.
Function
TAFs are components of the transcription factor IID (TFIID) complex, PCAF histone acetylase complex and TBP-free TAFII complex (TFTC). TIIFD is multimeric protein complex that plays a central role in mediating promoter responses to various activators and repressors.Transcriptional regulator which acts primarily as a positive regulator of transcription. Recruited to the promoters of a number of genes including GADD45A and CDKN1A/p21, leading to transcriptional up-regulation and subsequent induction of apoptosis. Also up-regulates expression of other genes including GCNA/ACRC, HES1 and IFFO1. In contrast, down-regulates transcription of MDM2. Acts as a transcriptional coactivator to enhance transcription of TP53/p53-responsive genes such as DUSP1. Can also activate transcription and apoptosis independently of TP53. Drives apoptosis via the intrinsic apoptotic pathway by up-regulating apoptosis effectors such as BCL2L11/BIM and PMAIP1/NOXA.

Product Notes

The TAF6 taf6 (Catalog #AAA9629329) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TAF6 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TAF6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA)(peptide). ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TAF6 taf6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TAF6, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
