Related Product Information for anti-TAF3 antibody
The highly conserved RNA polymerase II transcription factor TFIID (see TAF1; MIM 313650) comprises the TATA box-binding protein (TBP; MIM 600075) and a set of TBP-associated factors (TAFs), including TAF3. TAFs contribute to promoter recognition and selectivity and act as antiapoptotic factors (Gangloff et al., 2001 [PubMed 11438666]).

Uniprot Description

TAF140: Transcription factor TFIID is one of the general factors required for accurate and regulated initiation by RNA polymerase II. TFIID is a multimeric protein complex that plays a central role in mediating promoter responses to various activators and repressors. Required in complex with TBPL2 for the differentiation of myoblasts into myocytes. The complex replaces TFIID at specific promoters at an early stage in the differentiation process. Belongs to the TAF3 family.

Protein type: Transcription initiation complex

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10p15.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; transcription factor TFIID complex; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; zinc ion binding; p53 binding

Biological Process: transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription initiation from RNA polymerase II promoter; viral reproduction; negative regulation of transcription factor activity; RNA elongation from RNA polymerase II promoter; gene expression; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; maintenance of protein localization in nucleus

Product Notes

The TAF3 taf3 (Catalog #AAA6353388) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TAF3, CT (TAF3, Transcription initiation factor TFIID subunit 3, 140kD TATA box-binding protein-associated factor, TBP-associated factor 3, Transcription initiation factor TFIID 140kD subunit) (MaxLight 650) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TAF3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TAF3 taf3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TAF3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
