Related Product Information for anti-PLS3 antibody
PLS3, also known as plastin 3, belongs to the plastin family. Members of this family are actin-binding proteins that are conserved throughout eukaryote evolution and expressed in most tissues of higher eukaryotes. There are two ubiquitous plastin isoforms in humans: L and T. The L isoform is expressed only in hemopoietic cell lineages, while the T isoform has been found in all other normal cells of solid tissues that have replicative potential (fibroblasts, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, melanocytes, etc.). PLS3 contains 2 actin-binding domains, 4 CH (calponin-homology) domains and 2 EF-hand domains. It is expressed in a variety of organs, including muscle, brain, uterus and esophagus.

NCBI Description

Plastins are a family of actin-binding proteins that are conserved throughout eukaryote evolution and expressed in most tissues of higher eukaryotes. In humans, two ubiquitous plastin isoforms (L and T) have been identified. Plastin 1 (otherwise known as Fimbrin) is a third distinct plastin isoform which is specifically expressed at high levels in the small intestine. The L isoform is expressed only in hemopoietic cell lineages, while the T isoform has been found in all other normal cells of solid tissues that have replicative potential (fibroblasts, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, melanocytes, etc.). The C-terminal 570 amino acids of the T-plastin and L-plastin proteins are 83% identical. It contains a potential calcium-binding site near the N terminus. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]

Product Notes

The PLS3 pls3 (Catalog #AAA8107508) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-T Plastin/PLS3 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's T Plastin/PLS3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 1:500-1:2000 ELISA: 1:5000-1:10,000 IHC-P: 1:200-1:1000 IP: 1-5uL/mg of lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLS3 pls3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "T Plastin/PLS3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
